I'm curious to know if this is some sort of oxidation or lamination defect on my 1922 Peace dollar. It was stacked at an angle against some ikes (which are a different metal) so I'm worried that the damage was caused by that over the course of 20+ years.

And the front (it's not noticable)

Not really sure what the lamination effects could be caused by.

But the obverse looks to have some die cracks .....below L and through Y.
Possibly suggesting VAM 2BB?

Maybe the experts will know for sure.

Actually looks like maybe something removed the toning...cleaning solution maybe?

ETA: not that you were cleaning them, but sometime in the past perhaps.

It is glue, the rest of the coin toned while the glue kept the covered areas from toning.
