I go threw about 2 boxes of Pennies a week and just wondering about something.

Here is my question:

What Lincoln Cents will you not find year wise in Bank boxes of pennies DUE TO Pulling them from circulation or just not that easy to find Ect

HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE!

Well, the rarer date coins you will most likely not find because they have a low mintage. Put remember the majority of people don't really pay attention to pennies because they consider them worthless. There is a good chance of finding some nice coins. I've found a 1864 Indian Head in Good condition and a 1902 Indian Head in Extremely Fine condition. There is always a chance of finding a rare coin in circulation, you just got to keep searching.

I am learning that 1973S is hard to find in the wild. Then probably the other 1970's S mints. And also the 2009 LP4 for a 1959 to present circulation set.

1909-1958 Wheat cents and 1968S-1974S cents are all tough to find in circulation. Geographical location also plays a role- Denvers are harder to get on the East Coast and Phillys are harder to get on the West Coast.

As far as Memorials go the 1976D and the 1978D are hard to find in AU or better condition. And of course the small dates 60P and 70S.

No key dates are easy to find in circulation but thats what makes it fun the not knowing whats in the box.

You forgot that famous 1974 Aluminum.
OH, OH. That might start that argument again.

I've never heard of a 1974 aluminum cent, but then again I'm not a seasoned coin collector. I just mentioned the wheaties. When I buy wheaties I get 1921's and 1923's, but never 1922's. Oh well....

Not necessary to be one. Just stick around here and every once in a while some topics start over and over. The story of the 74 Aluminum one was just ran through not long ago.
And lets see those 55 double dies.

Wow, sorry you had to let them go. Sounds like you got a great deal though. Getting back on your feet and meeting your best friend....all from 2 pennies. Good luck with your searching, I'm right there with you. 2 boxes and a handful of rolls. Bah...I need to get something better than my loupe to look through all of these.
