Well a few things to say about my experience with APMEX.com......first off id like to say that the shipping and handling was amazing to say the least.....each coin had its own holder.....then a plastic padded envelope.....then put in a box that was completely sealed with paper to keep from anyone tampering......Box had to be signed for when it arrived......The coins themselves are in HIGH MS condition...i have not looked at them fully but at a quick look over I do not see one flaw in any of the 4 coins......I will be posting pictures of the coins later today here and I am definitely recommending this site to anyone! coins received today were: 2011 1 oz silver somlian elephant 2011 1 oz silver canadian maple leaf 2011 1 oz silveraustrian philharmonic 2011 1 oz silveraustralian koala I will be going back on tonight to purchase the remaining 2011 1 oz silver coins from APMEX

Well I see they are a sponsor here for us at CCF too so it's nice to hear of their good service and packing procedures! Hmmmm...I really like the Aussie coins...

I have been an APMEX customer for 5+ years. Outstanding all the way around.

I too have had some really good dealings with them buying both gold and silver coins. They are very friendly, and the items sent by them are packaged securely so as to protect the coins. I have also sold to them, and I found them very fair to deal with.

Never bought or sold anything to them. Thanks for the information though.

That is odd. I too just spent a lot of time on the web site tring to find out what they charge for that so called fantastic shipping, handling, postage and just couldn't find anything. At the bottom there is a statment about that or something like that if you click on that. I did find out that there is a 5% charge for restocking. Also, if you are returning something and want a replacement, it is up to them as to what you get. Still, can not find how much all this wonderful shipping costs.

OK I give up on that one. Again I just spent a lot of time on that web site and just couldn't find how much postage, shipping, handling, etc costs. There is a real lot of info on everything else but I guess poatage is just not important to them or the purchasers. I did note there is a $35 charge if you change or cancel your order. A 3% discount for cash. A few here stated they do deal with them so maybe they know about the Postage/shipping/etc. charges.

My feelings are if a person has to spend time searching for costs, postage, etc. there is something wrong somewhere. I'll pass on that place.

It's one click from the home page under frequently asked questions. If "How much is shipping?" isn't a frequently asked question, I don't know what is. It took me less than 15 seconds to find it so it's not them. Heck, most sites won't give you shipping costs until put something in your cart (How do they know until you pick something to ship or know where to ship it?), do you avoid all those too because they're "shady" ? It's maybe time to lighten up. I mean really, Bobby posted some coupon codes for Alibris and you immediately warned people about a "free shipping scam" because some other web site did it to you. Not even a thank you for the codes. I don't blame the Staff for removing it.

Where do you buy your tin foil hats then? Do you have a local B&M that sells them I guess?

No matter what aspersions some seem to cast, APMEX is not shady. They are extremely helpful and deliver exactly what they say they will when they say it will be done. I have purchased very many items from them because their customer service is outstanding. There's always some folks who'd be mad at finding a pot of gold because the leprechaun didn't come with it.

Question for anyone who has had to return an item to APMEX. I just received my two 2011 ATBs 5-oz (Gettysburg and Glacier). Upon close inspection I find that the Gettysburg has noticeable "scuffs and scratches" at the base of Washington's neck and the Glacier has a "nick/gouge" between the U and A in QUARTER. Am I within my rights to request replacements for these two coins? And, if so, what do you think will be the outcome? Disclaimer: I've purchased from APMEX before and have never rec'd a bad product until now. Thanks in advance for any input.
