I'm looking for some actual reading in this topic. Krause offers some historical articles in some publications, so this is the kind of stuff I'm interested in. Anything to do with kingdoms, mints....COINS! I'm ready to absorb knowledge!

For a very general all-in-one-volume country-by-country history of coinage from ancient times to the present day, I can recommend "The Coin Atlas" by Cribb and Carradice. Sounds like the sort of thing you're after.

Try the Whitman web site. Loaded with books on almost anything in coins.
