Truly difficult to say with any confidence given the small, blurry photos ...

My best guess is VF30 ...

Obverse ...

Hair detail is missing above the eyes and ears ... XF40 requires nearly all hair detail to be present except for some wear above the forehead.

Appears to be a significant bag hit on Liberty upper cheek.

Some of the stars appear to show radial lines (They would form 6-pedal stars if fully struck).

On the reverse ...

I can't see the wreath leaves in your photo ... but there should be some detail remaining there for a VF30 grade.

The lettering and dentils are bold ... appropriate for a VF30.

XF40 requires that the wreath have most details remaining ... can't say from the photos.

Soooo ... my humble opinion with above analysis is a 1887 VF30 Liberty nickel.

Numismedia FMV is appx $50 .... nice coin indeed.
