I wish I would have said that... oh wait, I did 3 posts earlier

Yes, you did....I also had a line above the notes that mentioned it but perhaps I should have made it clearer.

This one includes the note before and after the error:

I think I've mentioned that I live in Canada, so any of the American notes I have in my collection, I've had to purchase. I don't have the luxury of searching stacks.

99% of my Canadian error notes have been found by me in circulation. I have a 1973 $1 and a shinplaster that are mis-cuts but I purchased those.

Nick...saw that one about billcollectors 100. These are more pronounced on the 10 and 20's from that period. On the 10's it's the right side SN and on the 20's it is more of a misalignment due to shifted face (up or down) with the left side SN.

Based on what I have researched so far it did NOT affect all print runs / just some of the notes / districts.

However, I am noticing more of this show up in the error category once in a while now.

The 10's a bad pic but you can see it.

That having been said, does it have any effect at all on the value of the note, or is it just a curiosity?

That's a futile / circular discussion (imo).

For a person like me collecting misaligned over prints by denomination and series year some of these are worth a premium.

A person collecting district sets will pay NO error premium.

And a non numismatic person inheriting a stash of old notes and coins will just go and deposit them at the bank for FV.

So who is right?

It gets back to what your collecting / want in your collection regardless of what the market says.
