I agree- I search a large volume of cents from circulation. In every bag, I have to do a double take at many of the mintmarks on zinc cents. Zinc is an unstable metal under the environment that most pennies experience (moisture, heat and contaminants). If white or grey metal is showing at the mintmark, in most cases one will find that deterioration of the metal or incomplete plating is at fault.
