Don't know if these are worth anything,

this one probably nothing, but I first noticed it because it had no knotches on the side of it, so I checked it and seemed offset some, nothing special probably.

these three other ones are probably a little more valuable.

What made you pull these particular coins out of the pile? Did you spend less than face value for them?

I've searched 100s of rolls of quarters over the past 2-3 weeks (well over 10000 coins), and the ones with the smooth edges arent that uncommon. My understanding is that they're PMD due to some kind filing.

Here's what I pull out when searching quarters:

1968 and earlier silver
1970 (low mintage)
1973 (mounties)
1978 (small and large dent)
1983 (low mintage)
1991 (very low mintage)
1999P
2000P
Various late year mules and rare varieties/errors

I know that the 1989 without reeds wouldn't be particularly collection worthy. So by the comments, the 1970 low mintage and 1978 small dent (which are found in the pics above) are known to be pulled out the rolls, but yet other comments are telling for what purpose did I pull them out.

I'm getting mixed signal here.

Can someone tell if they are worth keeping or not, if going through rolls for nothing I won't bother, because there is not much silver still in circulation today, from where I am anyways. So I srfed the net to see what was worthy, and decided to pull these out. I didn't know that '78 large denticle were also collectibles. I threw these back in the box.

To clarify, I just pull all 78s, and go through them at a later date.

same reason why this guy takes them out.

the thread's name is ''my finds in canadian quarter box'', just the trouble of checking the quarter's year one by one.

thx twoplustwo, I thought so, hehehe, good because I rolled up the large denticle '78, didn't want to go through the rolls again. So are the small denticle that I have are worth anything? one of them is used up badly of course but the other is still nice, and the 1970 low mintage any value?

twoplustwo: have you found any 1999P or 2000P quarters? :)

Also what are your late year errors and varieties - do you have any in particular that I should be looking for?

Nope, none and probably never will :)

coloured mens hockey raised 2
2001 no P
1992 - New Brunswick, North West Ter., and Sask with a rotated obverse
1999 & 2000 - mules (without "25 cents")
2000 - Pride and Harmony with a rotated obverse

My main goal is to pull silver, but I'm quickly getting discouraged. Out of all the coins I've seached (well over 10000), I have pulled only a single silver quarter. I think I'm about to give up on quarters soon, and move onto dimes. I've been finding silver dimes at a rate of about 1 per 1000.
