In going through my 74 pounds of pennies (maybe more on that later), I ran across a couple of pennies that really stood out. The first one has had its edges rounded off for some reason. The only reason I can think of is that someone wanted to make this penny dime-sized for use in vending machines. Talk about a waste of time.

When I saw the second one, I almost jumped for joy. Almost. Then I started looking at it closely. For some reason, someone had the idea of making a 2-headed penny. Why someone would do this, I've no idea. But I thought it was pretty interesting nonetheless.

I thought I'd post them for your viewing pleasure. Now if someone wants to correct me and tell me they're real errors of some sort, I'd welcome that information. But I think the writing is on the wall with these two.

Semvhu, first I'd like to welcome you to the forum! Looks like you're already getting into the swing of things.

Nice finds, but like you surmised, they are both deliberately tampered coins, the first for unknown reasons but, perhaps as you speculate for use as a dime. And the second looks like someone's attempt at a magic trick (heads I win, heads you lose ). Both defacements look amateurish. I've seen some two-headed coins used by magicians in which no soldered seam nor other means of wedding the two sides together is at all obvious, even under magnification.
