Been in the family for years. I can tell you at least from the 70s as far as I can remember. But I never knew what they really are. Looks like they may be from the olympics. States on the wood case made in Italy. Each one feels heavy, like maybe bronze, pewter. Are they medals, tokens?

They are (somewhat crude) replicas of the actual designs used on the Olympic medals, presumably from 1896 through to whenever the set was issued. Click here to see what the actual (Summer) medals looked like.

I really appreciate it Sap. You are right about being crude replicas of olympic medals. Starting with 1896 through 1964. Thanks again for your help
