at first I though was a die chip but I think I can see the d over d ! Mayb is just a die chip but kind of odd looking chip .

Not possible for it to be an RPM.

Around 1990, mintmarks were no longer being hand struck into the coin dies. The mintmark is now a part of the hub from which the dies are made. It is all one process.

That most likely is a chip or some other form of damage, but not an RPM.

Hi,

Nope....It is not possible.

By this time, mint marks were added to the master hubs during the design phase. That means all the hubs had mint marks on them and consequently all dies had the mint mark transferred from the hubs to the die during the hubbing process.

That made the mint marks consistent and eliminated repunched mint marks.

Thanks for the info ! My is probably just a die chip under the mint mark some how I guess .

Not a doubled die or a die chip. I think it's zinc rot.
