$4,500 for $600 worth of gold just recently minted. I weep for my hobby.

Well, that pretty much proves my quote right there. Some people just aren't too bright.

I thought the whole "first strike" thing was shot down because it couldn't be proved. It was a thread on here a couple of months ago.

That coin is a thing of beauty, but his pictures of it really suck! I've seen other pictures that really make that coin look good. But $5,000+?!!! Wow, the feeding frenzy is definately on.!

I'm waiting for the Coin Vault or one of the other rip off shows to come on so I can see how far they have pushed their prices up!

I'm thinking these people will be very disappointed when the hype and their value is gone. That's nuts.

The thing that strikes me is the buyer is >1500 feedbacks, and therefore must have at least a clue by now. Surely he doesn't expect to flip this thing for a profit? Having said that, I once sold some audio gear to a guy who told me he had immediate buyers for the stuff overseas, at prices which allowed him to hook me up pretty well with his bid. I wonder if that's the case here?

Just because it has no merit based upon the mints own words concerning first strike coins,, does not mean that many will not buy the hype disseminated by TPG's and sellers who have profit in mind as a motive !!

Sad isn't it ?And-The-Game-Begins

Bidding ended at $5900.09. Must have been hard to cough up that extra 9 cents.

Unfortunately, just because something is insane or hogwash, doesn't mean you won't find a sucker for it!
