Bought a small lot of coins and this was included. In researching I have found that there is a Large Narrow date and a Small Wide date but I do not know how to tell the difference...All help is appeciated..Thanks to all in advance..

It's my understanding that yours would qualify as the Large date - 8's noticeably taller than 1 and 2, and very tight spacing. The Small date variety has the tops of the 8's - especially the first one - a full letter stroke shorter than the 2, and airspace exceeding the widest width of a letter stroke between the closest points of any two number pairs.

Looking at Heritage images, the difference between the two is obvious when you compare them.

Yours is a N-5 a large date. It is also common.
