It is one thing to find a 1960-D small date, but to have Machine Doubling and a die chip....cool

Okay...the die chips are very common, as would be Machine Doubling. Especially on 1960 small date cents, which was the major factor in why they changed to the large date. The dies kept chipping and breaking. Nearly half of all 1960D small date cents show this kind of problem.

As for the coin itself - they are common too. 1960D small date is nearly as common as the large date. It's the Philly mint (plain) 1960 small date cents that are scarce.

Agreed, I sell BU rolls of '60-D SD for $4...THIS IS NOT AN OFFER TO SELL, just illustrating values. A full BU roll of the 60-P SD rolls sells for $150 or more when you can find them.

Die chips are fun to look at and find, but they are so profuse for some years, it'd take an entire book to cover a single year and mint!
