I captured the color better on the reverse rather than the more red obverse pic. thanks for your opinions.

VF-25, sounds about right, can't tell if that's a 'repunched'9 or not, can you get a bigger pic of the date.

I would grad it no better than F. The coin looks to have been cleaned sometime in the past. The 9 is worth taking a closer look at. I could just be bold or there could be more going on there

Biggfredd, that is closer to the actual color, but with a little more golden tint, I tried manipulating with my program too, but ran out of time. I'm going to try to get a closer look at the nine. Back in a flash;)

I don't think this is a repunched 9, but maybe I don't know what to look for. Do I need a different angle?

This looks like a standard narrow 9 from what I can see by your pic
