What grade do you think the coin would grade at?
And what do you think the coin is worth at the grade?

Thanks

Looks like a nice coin, nearly uncirculated.

They market in this condition for about $40 in Australia.

Indians hoarded these coins as a store of value, and so can quite often turn up in nice condition.

Great detail, I would grade it AU-58.

Thanks! The dealer wouldn't give it for anything less than $150. I wish I were in Australia now :)

This is a nice 1911 rupee. I detect slight wear on the crown, above and to the left of George's ear. This is a common spot to check for wear. It's slight though. Grade AU-58.

The value of 1911 rupee's - so called pig rupees - has appreciated nicely and command a substantial premium. Disregard current Krause listings, which are obsolete. An AU-58 will sell for $80+ on ebay these days. MS-63's touch $200.

Seems like the dealer is pricing this as a MS coin, which it could very well be. I'ld be tempted at $150 but the price seems somewhat high.
