Hi all,
Brand new to this forum and wanted to show a few photos and hopefully get some info on this 1943-P set that I have. I've never seen one and I know the Mint never issued a proof set in 1943 but it looks just like one and was from a company called LCS out of Costa Mesa California. I aquired it from my great uncles collection, but wanted to learn more about it from some advanced collectors. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
All the best,
Tim

to CCF. You have a 1943 set that was put together by a private company. Although those coins appear to be in excellent shape, I would remove them from the cellophane wrap to avoid degradation if they were mine.

The value of this set will be based on the condition of the coins in it. If all the coins are gems (MS65 or higher) then you have a valuable set. What to do with this set is up to you. I'd have an expert view it in-hand (before breaking it out of the wrapper) and give you an opinion on it's condition. Best of luck!

Welcome to CC!

Very cool set you have there. Like BH said, it's a private company mint set (not proof).

Personally, I'd leave it just like it is, it has some nice character to it and the packaging adds to the appeal. Just be sure to store it properly and it will be fine.
