Hello All, A number of years back I purchased this overprint on reverse error on ebay... After receiving this note, I purchased "The Standard Handbook of $1 Web-Fed Test Notes - 2nd edition" published by; Bob Kvederas Sr. & Jr.. On page #10 they list "PREMIUM" as "A value added to any note regardless of condition", and on page #115 the premium for the G-P Overprint on Back is quoted at $5,000.00 for this error... I sent this note to PMG for certification and was a bit surprised when it received a 66 grade... At the time this book was published, there was only One 32 subject sheet from the 1988A Block G-P Series with the overprint on the back... I have viewed 3 of these error notes that could grade no higher than a A/U as all three notes had a center crease... I have tried to locate a population grade census of this error to find out what the highest grade is (all to no avail), and when I contacted PMG their reply is that they do not keep a census on error notes... Should anyone know the highest certified grade, please advise... THANKS

Very nice indeed and congrats. I think PCGs started keeping track of errors recently (not sure). Stephen M Sullivan in his book list's four notes from this sheet (your's is not in the book NOR does he list the condition of the 4 notes). Do you have the SN's of the notes you have seen in person? Here are some folks that I can think of for you to contact. Fred and Stephen wrote currency error books and may be of help. Also Kvedera's may know of the number as well. Dr Fredrick Bart Stephen M Sullivan Auction Houses Lyn Knight Hertiage Also you can post over on collectors universe and see if anyone can be of assistance. Just google away. Quote: and was a bit surprised when it received a 66 grade... Is it due to the hit above "Catalina" signature or is something that is not visible? Also do you think it will cross into a PCGS at the 66 grade? Some are picky / sensitive to this whole grading thing. Either way you have a very unique item and do not let others talk some nonsense to you.

I chose PMG for certification as I needed a £20 Bank of England ERROR NOTE ccertified and when I telephoned PCGS their reply was that they ONLY grade USA Currency at this time, when I telephoned PMG, they replied that they do indeed certify World Currency, with that said, PMG was my only choice for certification. Coin World published a ½ page article w/photo on my £20 Note. I'll be posting it shortly, just not sure what forum to post in as I want to ask people in the UK if they have located another note from this sheet. The Bank of England claims that a sheet of 40 notes may have entered circulation, in FIVE YEARS of internet searching, I have yet to locate another example of this error...

If you do post it elsewhere in the forums would you please be so kind as to post a link to it in this thread. I would love to see it. I don't keep up with some of the other forums and would probably miss it.

The CGA Note is a non-error from the same Series 1988A Block G-P , Run #8 with Plate Combo 5-8 as the Error Note... The G-P Block is one of the higher value blocks in the production of Web Notes, the lowest value listed for a G-P note in UNC (60) grade starts at $125.00 in Bob Kvederas Jr.& Sr.'s "The Standard Handbook of $1 Web-Fed Test Notes - 1988A, 1993, 1995 - 2nd edition" (these notes were produced in July 1993)... I enclosed the non-error with the error note as they both share the same 66 grade from the same run...
