biokemist6,
Your question : " Just curious..... ? "
My answer : five error attribution specialists. But in this show, they have only 10 x and 16 X magnifycing-glass.
But this is not the "end of the world" : this is only our error !

"5 cents 1932(Varieties:Far 2 and Near 2)"
I knew nothing about them.(Who discovered the variety & when) It was on this forum that I learned about it. I can't seem to find the post, since it was an older post. Maybe it is achieved somewhere. I do know a couple of us on the forum had to double check to see if we had the rarer variety.

Hello everyone - It appears it's been almost one year since this topic was last discussed. I just happened to do a general search and found this topic which describes a Canadian 10 cent coin with exactly the same defect., I discovered one in a coin collection that my father left to me also. It has the same type of error as the other members are showing with their coins. Since a few of us have this coin with the same defect (the 0 is compressed that it almost looks like a 1 over-strike - and it appears that we all have it occurring vertically). Since there is more than one coin with the exact date and defect, what are the odds that it would get the same problem from a coin counter/sorter? Also, this would have occurred before 1975 because that is the last time this coin had been touched. I have had the coins stored since that time and my father had them boxed and put away even longer. If there is still any interest in this topic , I will take a picture and post it.

If you have a coin with the same issue..... it was done after if left the mint as well. It is not a die issue. It is Post Mint Damage, no more, no less sorry.

I don't see the pictures so I'll try this again. Sorry, I'm new to this so I'm learning. Already had to compress the picture sizes. Maybe I have a file naming issue. This looks better .... had a space in the name created by the file compression utility

Looks like damage from a coin wrapper. Part of the outside of the "0" has been pushed over.
