Would you offer MS63 money for this? It's got nice detail but obverse seems to have lotsa chatter on the obverse.

I guess common cash for a common grade of MS653 is going thought the roof....I would never pay $60 for a common MS63 coin...the price is more like for an MS64 common coin...but thats just me, and silver has gone up...I would never buy from a bottom basement self slabber as ACCUGRADE.... they are always over the top....

I think MS-63 is a fair grade for the coin pictured. $60 is a bit high but the poster had asked "should I pay MS-63 money" not "should I pay $60".

Yes I "snapped it up" for the $61 and have to agree with Aladinslamp, the prices are going through the roof. But what's that phrase keeps cropping up? Buy the coin, not the slab. I wasn't really concerned with ACCUGRADE's opinion on the grade nor the slab. It looked like an MS63 to me and so I put on the forum. Fenton seems to agree. To me, the coin has great eye appeal and that's why I went for it. In addition, toned coins seem to go for a higher premium in most cases. I feel the price was in the ball park looking at past hammer prices on ebay. The 3 most recent went for $59, 51 and $60. Numismedia lists them at $68 and NGC at $63. So far, in my limited experience the Greysheet prices have proven unrealistic for collectors and I seldom see a coin selling for those prices. I'm sure however there's probably a lot of dealer-to-dealer transactions going on using Greysheet prices that we as collectors never see. But if the coin looks as good in hand as it does in the pix, I'm sure I'll be more than happy with it and consider it money well spent.

Here she is in person and she's a beauty in hand. Not sure sure it holds up to MS63 though.

Looks fine for MS-63. The surface haze is the biggest "problem" I see; in terms of chatter and marks it's well within the normal MS-63 range.

Accugrade is not the typical "self-slabber" as far as I know. They did (maybe still do?) provide legitimate grading services for a fee but never established the credibility of the major TPG companies. The had the usual issues with over-grading and failure to note problems such as cleaning but even the big boys aren't perfect in that regard!

Nice looking coin I like to see ones that have not been dipped 40 times! Well within the MS-63 range for luster and surface marks.
