Went to Chase this morning for week-end boxes. I'm used to getting these:

Strange-To-Me-Cent-Box

They had a totally different box (with a strap. no holes and no printing other than $25 pennies.) Anybody else getting these?
I really dont want to break the strap, but dont know how to check it without holes. Any ideas?

I have seen all sorts of boxes. I have no idea why you wouldn't want to break the strap. The coins are worth no more or no less because of a strap holding the box together.

They were unloading them from a Garda truck. I thought they may be new, off comes the strap.

Leave it sealed and sell it on ebay for a grossly inflated price while mentioning that there's a high probability of rare coins in there. (joking - open the thing)

Honestly, even if it is a box of all new coins, the strap doesn't add anything to it. As long as all the rolls are intact it's still a box of 50 rolls. Tape it shut and sell it. To me, if it's 2011-D!

I agree. If you have not opened it already, you should. Why bother getting a box of coins if you are not going to look at the coins?

The strap is just for keeping the coins together if the box should fall out of someones hands while shipping/delivery
The strap also allows a person to grab with one hand versus two hands for faster stocking

I'm with your original statement. Only mention that the strap is proof that all are UNSEARCHED.
Also, if you do take the strap off, put that up on ebay too. Could say this is from a UNSEARCHED box of cents.

Don't break the strap. Break the box around the strap. You don't want to destroy the strap's monetary value to strap collectors.
