Hello all,
I recently lost a loved one and I was thinking of a photo etched coin in silver with dates on the obverse and militery on the reverse.
Does anyone know who and/or where I could have these made (about 5 to 10) of these coins?
Thanks in advance.
Rest in Peace

Mila Cent, sorry to hear the news. I don't know of any company that creates that kind of item, but will make a few calls and emails to see if I can find one.

Etching involves the production of etching plates to transfer the image(s) to the final material via an acid treatment. Something that may or may not be more economical, but should be more detailed (and could have color) would be to have the image(s) burned into the metal with a laser. A few years back, a local company that produces titanium (RMI Titanium in Niles, Ohio) was selling small (I only saw one size, like 6" x 8") landscape scenes burned into the titanium plates. This type of process would be computer controlled, so it should not be much of a task to load a picture into the computer and have it control the laser to make a very detailed picture. There was a bit of hologram effect as well, which may have been how the colors were generated because there was no paint involved. Perhaps even a woodworking shop that does laser burning of wood could produce such items.

Sorry to hear of you loss our prayers are with you.
Don't know of a company that makes what you want due to cost most conpanies make large quanities of tokens, but You may find what you are looking for.

a second choice if you can not find the coins in many places will make dollar notes with a persons picture on them.
Also the Australian and US postoffice offers a service that allows you to order STAMPs wit a persons picture on them -
Be at peace
good luck
