I noticed that the trails on the older coins are very faded almost a shadow look to it. The only way I could tell for sure was the letters have that melting look to it. This trail die is very wild though similar to the 1999. Its coming off the pillars in the Memorial building going down the stairs. Its coming off the letters on the top. I noticed that the trails are extremely long coming off some of the letters. At first I wasnt sure till I looked at the Ts and E in State. The top left Ts and E have that melted look to it. Its pointless for me to take a picture of the trails on the bottom end of the pillars. My camera wouldnt capture that.

Those are die scratches, not trails.

Those are die wear. The dies are being over polished to remove a clash and the devices are just getting more shallow after each polishing. Note where the bottom of the bust is?
