The other day I was given change and one of the quarters was a 1964 silver quarter dollar with these strange raised squares in the shape of a triangle? Meaning, one on top, two on the bottom just in front of George Washington's nose. And below that is "In God we trust" on the left of Georges neck. The others I've seen is on the right? When I first seen it, I thought of micro chips embedded in the coin.

Do you know what this is?

the "In God We Trust" is correct for that year. They only moved it to the right starting with the State Quarters. As for the black things I have no idea, but they wont have any effect on the coin value....

The thing I think is weird is that it's not really glued on, but rather embedded. The coin is also solid silver. I see no copper, what so ever?

1932-1964 was silver Washington quarters so it being silver would be correct for that coin also, in 65 they started with the clad Washington quarter

First, mbraselton, welcome to the forum! The folks here are pretty friendly and collectively loaded with knowledge.

The quarter itself isn't particularly unusual, but those three little things certainly are. They may be RFID (radio frequency identification) devices as you surmised, but there's no way to tell for certain; they could be some prank somebody is playing. Have you put them under a magnifying glass (or something more powerful like a binocularscope)? Usually (but not always), such chips have an identification number and/or letters on them, often not visible to the naked eye.

If at all possible, could you post in image of one close up?

I was thinking more of full-frame of one of the chips (or whatever they are). In any instance, hang onto the quarter as a curiosity. Maybe someone will have seen something like this before.

Thank you Fred. I'll try and get a zoom pic of the square when I figure out how to work this camera.

Thanks for your help.

mb, I gotta laugh - I'm also doing exactly the same thing with my new Canon 2S IS. I bought it last spring, took pretty pics all summer long, have now taken several hundred images of coins over the past week trying to master the gazillions of settings on this little hand-held computer gizmo. I've got it narrowed down so that I can take a picture good enough to post on an auction site, but it's still not good enough for me. I need a few more weeks and a couple thousand more shots before I get it mastered. Guess I spent too many years with my Nikon F1 film camera and am having a hard time making the adjustment.
