Unknown Countermark On 1868 Philippines Coin

This one has me stumped. It's a counter-mark in relief different from the common merchant punches. Looks like a cross or lower case t with an extra leg on the left. Also looks quite old and the coin itself is genuine.
Any clues are very appreciated! =)

I am no expert, but to me that looks like a chopmark from China. The chopmark denotes that a particular merchant accepted the coin for it's silver content and marked it with the specific "chop" that identifies them.

Hopefully someone else can come along and give more details. I do love chopmarked coins though and it is unusual to see them on coins that are not "crown-sized."

Absolutely. Some merchants had their chops done in relief- instead of just a punch. Here is another example of one:
