Ive been taking a break from nickels lately to go through cents, and in my most recent box I pulled what I believe to be a 1999 WAM, though the condition is somewhat lacking. Since I already have a better example, I'm thinking of selling this one. If it is indeed a WAM, what price do you think it would fetch, should it be sent out to anacs? The better looking cent is there for comparison purposes (though at first I thought it might be a WAM as well lol).

Thanks
-XoG

The coin I'm refering to as the WAM is the one on the right.

No WAM's on here sorry. This is pretty common on the 99's especially.I believe what you have is the result of a worn or polished die.

when the coin gets dirt between the letters it makes a illusion of the AM being spaced apart and looking like a WAM clean off the dirt and you will see it's a reg CAM

A good indicator is if the designers initials are closer to the monument than a normal 1999, like your other example.

XOG, you'll know it when you see it. See if you can find some pictures on the Internet, you'll see.

When in doubt, I grab a spare normal 1992 and look at the space...big space..between the "A" and the "M". Then I compare it back to the questionable 99 one. Then I always check the initials, too!

Nothing helps like finding the genuine article- as mentioned, when you see it, YOU'LL KNOW! And you'll probably spill your coffee and burn yourself too, but you won't notice the pain.
Once you've held the coin, you'll never forget what it's supposed to look like either. BOOM, it'll knock you down when you finally find that rare die variety!

yes from looking at it again, it does look like some of the A in America has corroded off and is the cause of the bigger space. I did purcahse a 99 Wide AM, and the space is somwhat larger than this one is. I guess ill just have to keep looking then huh? lol
