I have like 3 rolls of Kennedy halves. A lot of bicentennials, 71s and a bunch of other years that I have just been collecting over the years. They are circulated, most in great shape. No silver content. Are these worth over face value? I considered cashing them in but are these worth more than face value? I am looking to unload these and just wanted to see if they are worth selling to a coin collector or should I just cash them in at my bank?

They're pretty much worth face value unless you want to look for errors or varieties. For example = http://askaboutcoins.com/2009/04/do...alf-dollars/ . I have a bunch that I've kept to start an album later on. I'd cash them in or spend them, but no harm in giving them a once over.

Well, I took your advice and really looked at them. The ones that stand out are - 1978-D
- 1982-D
- (2) 1983-D
- 1986-D
- 1990-D
- 1991-P
- 1991-D
- (2) 1993-D
The rest are pretty common. Shame when I was holding onto the bicentennials, I thought they would be really worth something some day. So that is the best of the bunch out of 60+ Kennedy half dollars. All really nice shape. Those have to be worth more than face, don't you think?

the 78 82 83 86 In high grades ms-62 and above are worth keeping worth about a few bucks each If they are ms-65 then they can be worth alot more.
But to be honest they would have to be in pretty good darn shape, if they have any circulation to them at all they are worth face

Check your Bicentennials. There is a area on the reverse upper right quadrant where AMERICA is (I think at the RIC) where you can find a known Cud. It is on both P's and D's. I have found coins with the die break for the Cud but have never found the Cud yet.

Most likely cashing them in is going to be the way to go...

I see 2 choices here.
#1 Take them to the bank. If they were worth more than face I would be a billionaire by now.
#2 Take them to a local auction house. There some sucker may come along and pay 3 or 4 times face for them, or they may not sell at all, who knows how an auction crowd is going to act. With this method you could also lose money.IE..... They sell for face or slightly above. After deducting the sellers premium you could realize a loss.

I saw someone pay $6 for over 5 ikes at a local auction. Wish I could have saved them the trouble and told them where the nearest banks were. Who knows, maybe someone will do the same for halves.

I think you should get an album and start a collection. I love my kennedy set! Great Man and a sharp looking coin. Cash in the doubles and get some more rolls.
