I just did some research and I have a 100 PTAS SILVER FRANCISCO FRANCO CAUDILLO I'd grade as AU. I know it is 80% silver but I have no idea of the collectability.

What exactly is the date? they are all dated 1966, but should have a number in the small star by the date.
Most are basically worth BV, but the 1969 is the expensive one and the 1970 is worth a little more than BV

With an ASW of .4887, the BV is over $18.00 at todays silver price!, So whomever got it at 12.00 sure got a deal.
Also Spain used that dating system at least until the early 1980s on all of their coins, Why? I don't know.

Thanks for all the great info! I don't plan to sell it, I think it's cool and it was my late Father in-laws.

The easily visible date was the year of the authorization; the tiny one was the production year. Spain used this system between the 1860s and 1982.

In the mid-19c they used, for a while, stars which had different numbers of points to indicate different mints. The six-pointed star was Madrid, the seven points star was for (I think) Sevilla, etc. When the other mints were closed, only Madrid (six points) remained. A little later, the production year was added to that star.

About thirty years ago that was modified - the mintmark has been the crowned M since then, and the year is (more or less :) ) the production date.
