I have been sorting through my collection and found some very nice notes hidden in some books. Guatemala 1 Peso Issue of 6-25-1918Pretty much CU but with some staining And my second note is Guatemala 2 Quetzales Issue of 1-25-1936I believe the Pick # is 15a. This note is Ch CU with one tiny spot on the bottom I would value any advice on sending these in for grading and if anyone has a current value that would also be helpful.

I can't find the first two notes listed anywhere in Krause 9th edition, so I can't help you there.
The 1936 2 Quetzales is listed at $400 XF.
They all look worthy of grades if you're doing it to sell them or looking for more accurate prices.

The 1st note is in the Specialized Issue catalog 10th edition and its Pick #S111b and my book has it $3 in G, $10 in F and $35 in XF. And the 2nd note is indeed Pick 15a. The 11th edition has it $8 in G, $45 in F and $225 in XF.
As to grading them, that is totally up to you. Personally I wouldn't bother doing the 1st one as the cost to slab it outweighs the value. And the stains wouldn't help the grade. And the 2nd I would consider doing. But I have none of my notes slabbed.

I was trying to find the second note by searching ebay and google, I have never found a note like this graded over a VF on ebay. Because of this I was just wondering how many are out there in CU Condition. (I did find 15b (1942)on a past Heritage Auction that sold for 1,150) Any ideas where to find population and condition of notes like this?

Always check your old books before giving them away. I've given away at least $30 in this way.

I really don't know anything about currency but I did notice that the top one says it is made in New York...is that common for foreign currency?

American Bank Note made stuff for everyone, and still does.
Somewhere I saw an auction of stuff that they were cleaning out of one of there old facilities (Big Money).
I have yet to find on of the 2nd notes these listed in CH UNC anywhere.
I think it will take the trip to PMG soon.

The ABN auctions of their archives started in 2008, which included historic worldwide banknotes, stocks and bonds, unique essay banknotes, U.S. Treasury Bonds and security printing ephemera. So far there have been 7 different parts to the auction. The next part is May 13th of this year by Archives International.
So yes jayman it was a very common thing. For example take the new polymer banknotes, Australia makes them for at least 19 other countries. Might even be more now.

Sent the note to PMG and it came back Choice AU 58.
Still can not find a good price quote on this note.
Not many out there for sale.
Really thought it would grade higher than Choice AU 58.
