If I didn't have one I would bid on it, but I collect varieties anyways and they are all unique it seems. I wouldn't personally go much higher than $10 shipped. But once you see a small date in your hand they are easier to spot, I think. So a little spent here will provide some education.

Too worn with too much damage, and looks cleaned, I would leave it be..

Is that on ebay? It looks familiar to me...like I might have considered bidding on it, since I didn't own an 1891 Small Date....but I didn't bid. Instead I purchased another one...see my post on the page - 1891 SD SL

I LOVE these early large cents! I got a couple at a flea market about a year ago but I think they had been cleaned. That's okay because I got them for just 50 cents each or 4 for a buck, I don't remember exactly, and I really like them anyway.

Be careful!...Be Very Careful!! Do NOT look into the Monarch's eyes! You will become entranced...you will find it impossible to leave them alone! You will compulsively bid on every one that you see on ebay! You will search endlessly for varieties, hoping to find just one more! In short, you will be HOOKED!...WELCOME TO THE CLUB.
