I have 40 1976 $2 bills. A few are still nice and crispy, but none are worn or torn. Is there any thing I should look for before I send them to the bank?

Before you turn them in, go through them, and check for star notes (star at end of serial#) low serials, and fancy serials.

Also, you could head over to https://www.uspapermoney.info, to check the print runs, to see if any of them are from a particularly low run.

Good luck! I hope you find something interesting.

If you have no need for them why not offer them for sale or trade to some of the collectors here, better than just sending them back to the bank.

I and J (Minneapolis and Kansas) are hard to come by. I also would hang onto any higher grade notes. The other tough one to find is St Louis (H). Hope this helps.

My wife kept 20 of them, and I think that they were in consecutive serial numbers. This is some of her collection that she is selling or turning in to pay a tax bill. I am not happy that she is doing it, but you married guys know that if she wants to do something she is going to do it. I can only try to help her get the best price for her coins and paper money. And yes, I am putting money into it also. Thank you for your input.

Spend them with much fun after you check them for types and varieties. They must be a liiiittle easier to unload than half-dollars.
Rest in Peace

spend them, not return them to the bank. the only way stuff like this will become used is for collectors to spend them.
