centsdimes Valued Member United States 134 Posts	Posted 03/26/2011 4:24 pm I bought a 1911D Barber dime. It's an F12 coin but seems to have been cleaned. (The dealer said it's too clean & polished.) How many points do I need to deduct? Report this Post to the Staff

The whole purpose of deducting grading points is to establish a price point, anyways, and like every coin, the price is what you're comfortable paying for it. There's no set rule of thumb concerning cleaning, anyways, since "cleaning" is a huge range of possibilities from an unnoticeable dip to a Dremel. Report this Post to the Staff
