For Scooby: Thanks people, especially Weavus for all of those great specific coin details because I was able to label those coins and I have them in flips now. I'll be back shortly with a scan of another coin, from Isreal looks like, with a "1". Those are the only marks recognizable to me on it and could use a little help to understand the rest of the symbols.

Ok, here it is. Sorry but I seem to have a hard time doing good scans of silver coloured coins. One day, I shall buy me a scope/camera like some of you folks have so I can show better images. One day!

Quote: Philipines 2004 Krause KM#272 5 PISO 7.6700g., Nickel-Brass, 25.5mm Its mintage started in year 1995 running 16 years of production. It's the longest coin ever continously used in circulation here in the Phiippines. Year 2000 is the most scarce in its actual production. I have tried looking over five thousand pieces yet I have not found one dated 2000. We also noticed that there is no year 2007 & 2008. 2009 and 2010 is the most visible dates in circulation. I have written Central Bank of the Philippines about this but no response yet as of todate. We still do not know the reason.

Dottir, heres a couple of awesome websites: www.numista.com has a country list and a search feature. Sometimes you may only know the date or the denomination (in the case of the coin above). A great date calculator for the coins like the one you just listed: http://apps.creounity.com/time_machine/en/ just select the country of the date you are converting on the left. Enter the symbols you see and it will calculate the date. I'll let you dtermine the date of your last coin. Hope this helps!

So, in Numista I scrolled through the Israel coins and found this on the coin/s: http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1725.htmlInteresting to me they only ran this one for 5 years, from 1981 through 1985. Then they were demonitized. Have yet to try and figure out the date though, which I'll try shortly PS: I deleted a double post of this one. Accidentally posted it twice. Oops and sorry!

you'll find a number of countries that run their coins for short periods of time before reform coinage takes over. if you really want to run around this, go and take a look at Brazil.
scooby hint...it is dated between 1981 and 1985.....LOL But I, like scooby, will let you try and search the date because that is what makes this stuff fun. However, if you cannot find it, don't get frustrated, just ask and I know we will respond. Have fun!

Hmmmm I think I have a 1981 (5741 Hebrew Calendar) but not certain as I don't understand the last two little symbols they show in the site as they don't appear on the coin. I'm looking at the first group/set of 4 symbols to the far left in the lower left corner of the reverse? showing the numeral 1. http://apps.creounity.com/time_mach...o=israel.php
