Again, thanks for any and all info. the streaks appear to be raised and do not appear to be PMD as the letters and Memorial are basically unaffected(a little bit near the bottom of the Memorial). haven't seen this before and looking for input. Thanks!

Die scratches. I've never seen them that bad before. I thought Abe was going to be streaking.

Those are die gouges. They are caused by the feeder fingers that supplies the planchets to the die presses.

Sometimes, the feeder fingers scrape the die and leave these gouges. But, that is one of the worst I've seen so far.

Just the cool factor to you.

It's better served in a 2x2 and labeled as an educational piece so you have something to compare to in the future. The majority of the time, you'll only see a few marks, that has a lot.

But they will always appear to flow "behind" the devices because those are the raised portion of the die that gets affected.

You could probably throw it on ebay and get 5 bucks for it.

Sorry guys, but I have to disagree. For Feeder Finger Damage, this coin is an extremely dramatic example, strongest I've ever seen. If a customer offered me this coin, even in the circulated grade it is, I'd pay more than $5 and be happy to. The stuff that's dramatic and visible to the naked eye, sells. Warsumm- you may not do well selling it on ebay, it has become a tough market. But I know I could sell this coin to a customer without any problem, it's very cool. Thanks for showing.

, yet another reason it would be better served in a 2x2, for me.

Thanks for all the info. I actually make my money in sales, but not anything relevant to coins, So I will be keeping all of these for my collection. It takes too much time and is too much fun when finding something to turn it around for a small profit. Now, If I found a 1955 DDO, well...that would be a different story.

I agree with you, but it's not hard to save up rolls worth of coins worth $5-10 with enough searching, it'll pay off occasionally. But no money equals the thrill of the hunt and find!

Whoa, that is extreme. Very nice. I'm with Scooby Due. Good educational piece. Staple it into a 2x2 and properly classify it.
