No, I did NOT mean a dime short

Can't sleep again so browsing ebay I spotted this Canadian dime. Would you buy it after reading the story behind it?

Be interesting to see if people bid and it sells. I'm going to watch this one.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone fell for it. Creative writing sells coins, even crap like this.

Even if the story were true, you can't prove it.The only way I would be interested is if it were mine and it happened to me or my grampa

Well, for the record, to my uneducated eye it doesn't look like I'd think a coin that was shot would look. Alhough I've never seen a shot coin! But I really like the sellers humor, and Gramps story

I'll bet, if anyone buys it, it will be for the humor and the conversation novelty piece element to it. To have fun with it.

You're absolutely correct. That's why "mint state" Tums sell for $$$. The buyer wants to be part of the fun.

Only if it's silver! You could always sell it as scrap.

The ammo used in a war would have pushed that dime right through the leg. This is a Quarter shot 3 times at 100 yards with a .22, much less powerful than a combat round.

First of all, I agree with Ziggy and Dottir, If it was shot with a round, in which direction did it come from? There should be an even follow through of the bullet. This certainly has not been shot with a bullet, either that or it sure was a strange bullet. I feel sorry for the person who buys it under these circumstances.

I think "Grampa" used it as a screwdriver to loosen a screw. Any which way there's a screw loose somewhere.

Honestly even as it's silver, I would not pay $.10 for it!
Not worth the time for the Dime!

Interesting, I have never seen a time traveling coin before. Thats the only way a German bullet could of damaged this coin, 4 years before the war started! Nice story. Maybe a German neighbour?

I like this explanation best! Thanks for the laugh!
