I've got a number of 70's cents with doubling occurring. Some at the forehead, some on the back of the head. Even some on the reverse - leaves, date etc.. I'm pretty sure a lot of this is MD. I've kept examples of each because they make great conversation pieces (for coin nerds of course).
Totally agree with you ikandiggit. I've found a few of the known varieties of the 70's and enjoy finding new ones I don't have for the collection. I enjoy MS-PL examples but really enjoy the error/variety hunt.:)
I've found quite a few with same areas and types from many years of the 70's, the 80's too I believe. Forehead, nose etc, under the chin, along front and back of neck, date and leaves edges. Lots also of extra metal under the chin in that area where it curves and becomes neck.
I bought a struck through error, later noticed it had a minor rotation and hub dbl on queens face, so then I searched through my cent hoard and found a dozen with face or back of neck doubling. for date doubling I was only checking the '79s, now I'll have to check again for 78s and 76s. Any other years you know of for date dbls ?
