I recently went through my piles of Eisenhower dollars and pulled these two 1972's out. They appear to me to be type 2's. Am I correct? If so what are there estimated grades and values.
The beige spot on the reverse of the left coin is actually a crumb on my scanner and the odd toning on the obverse of the left coin is where tape had been stuck on to the coin (i removed it with verdicare).

Thanks again,
-XoG

They are Type 2, and I would say they look circulated unless better pictures tell me otherwise. The coin on the left looks to be damaged because of the tape.

XoG, Congrats, on the Type 2's.

Check to see if your coins are March or August release.

The March release is the more rarer of the 2.

Here are some die markers to look for:
The March issue usually has die cracks going across the TES of states on the Rev and a die dot under the N of IN on the Obv.

The August issue usually has die gouges going through the EP of E.Pluribus and has a distinct die dot in the O of Dollar on the Rev.

Here is a real good article on these written by Mr. John Roberts from ANACS- Director of Attribution Services
