The big show comes into town tomorrow ... hundreds of dealers at the downtown Convention Center.

I'm going with my Dansco 7094 ... Classic Silver Commemorative Type set ... hoping to fill some holes in my circulted set ... have 26 of the 50 so far in circulated condition.

Anyone else going?

David,

I posted this in another section I believe, but this does seem to be the better area to post. Send me a PM and I'll send you my phone number in the morning. I'm going to sleep, but it would at least be nice to say thanks in person.

Attended the show today ... alas missed lukkyseven as I had left a few minutes before he got there. Bummer on that account.

This show is huge ... overwhelming for me ... hundreds of dealers and millions of coins.

I did not purchase anything ... met up with a few familiar dealers who all claimed that the circulated classic silver commemorative I am seeking are all heading to the melting pot at $40/oz silver. Bummer on that as well.

Did stop by the PCGS booth where I picked up a few sample slabs ... they are promoting their new 'Secure Plus' holder by giving away 2010-D Shield cents in sample slabs.

I need better skills/knowledge/something to manage a show of this size. Truly felt like I was out of my league.

I suppose that is part of growing as a collector?

Well I went back to the same two dealers as I did last show and had great experiences with them. Tried a few new vendors that I didn't care for - even over paid for one coin (but I feel like it was worth it so maybe I didn't overpay?). All and all, the wife and I spent our budget. Great time though!

I was pretty overwhelmed as well! Sorry I missed the two of you there. I made a few decent purchases - nothing too huge. More importantly I got the contact info of the dealer's I liked so that I can visit them next time around.

Nickelsearcher - your comment on the other forum, "for the next Baltimore show I am going to coordinate a CCF meeting where we can all say hello live," sounds great. Hopefully I'll know you all a bit better by then!

I went as well on Thursday. Dealers definitely come in all types. The show is/was overwhelming. I walked the floor for a while and shopped some pennies to start. Overall, I had a great time. I got an 81 CC Morgan graded 62 by ANA that has beautiful toning. I also got a 63/64 84' CC Morgan from a dealer I trust. Got some AU common date Morgans for the collection, and a beautiful 81'S I grade 63/64. Filled some holes for my daughter's penny book too. It was a lot of fun. Maybe some of us can meet up next time.

Next time it comes around I'll try to start a thread much sooner in advance to meet up with everyone. Forgot to mention the very first place I visited when I went in there.

Got my wife more of them Disney Dollars - Surprisingly enough, they continue to rise in value (at least they are on ebay).

Agreed lukkyseven ... in June we are going to hopefully have a big CCF meet-and-greet at the Baltimore show.

My wife Judy comes along as company ... she has no interest at all in coins ... but finally is able to relate to my ... addiction.

Hoping to see many CCF folks in Baltimore in June 2011.
