ancientcoinguy Pillar of the Community United States 842 Posts	Posted 04/03/2011 12:12 pm Hey guys. I was looking through a box of quarters I have pulled from circulation that had dates before 1970. Unfortunately for me, only one was silver (a 1964 no mint). Most are 1965 and 1966. Should I hold on to these because of their age or is it okay to let them go? Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

numismo Rest in Peace United States 3039 Posts	Posted 04/03/2011 12:16 pm Check the 65s for a DDO, the 66s for a DDR, the 68Ds for a DDR, the 69Ds for a rpm. There are a few more things to look for if you're so inclined Report this Post to the Staff

Somewhere I heard that a few of the 65's were struck on 64 planchets by mistake. Now I don't know if that is true or it's just some story originated from a barroom someplace or what. Can't hurt to offer. BTW, I don't want them...but if someone were going to spend a bunch of cents because they were tired of hanging onto them, I would take them at face value.
