Greetings. I have another coin in my collection that appears to be hammered. I am wondering if anyone might be able to suggest in regards to origin and date.

Thank You, Joe

Hi,

This isn't actually a coin but a jetton - probably from the 16th-17th century. They are also know as counting pieces - though there seems to have been an awful lot of them produced for just that purpose so I suspect they had other uses too - probably even as small change in some areas if there was a shortage.

Nuremburg was the main production centre for them though they can be found elsewhere too - generally around Frane / Germany / Netherlands regions.

Hope this helps
