What an education I have received on bank vaults and safety deposit boxes. The humidistat is set at 55-65% and the temp is set at 74 deg. The main a/c unit supplies all the cooling regulated by variable dampers through out the bank. The humidity is also controled by this unit. My bank is TD BANK. I have put all the coins in ziplock freezer bags for the time being. The safty deposit boxes are not air tight and the only guarantee is for physical loss, covered for declared value.

I use SORB-IT. Absorbs moisture only. Change twice a year.

Another thing to observe at most banks is during the day, most banks have the vaults open to the normal air of the bank. In most though they do have a barred door to stop just anyone from going in and out. Those barred doors allow the air from the bank to go into the vaults kad out as well. One more reason that it is impractical to have a separate system for any one room in the banks.
At another bank I go to the safe deposit boxes are in the basement. There is a person stationed there all day to allow people to use their safe deposit boxes and/or to acquire new ones or get rid of present ones. I asked about the A/C system there since it is known that cold, damp air falls and hot dry air rises. The lady stationed down there said she sure would appreciate a separate system for down there since the air really is horrible. Unfortuately for her there is only one system for the entire bank.
