Need more info on this Goetz medal I have. Says its from 1915 off the Lusitania sunk by german uboat sub, 1198 lives lost.

Look at the word 'May' in the writing on the exergue. If it is spelt 'maY' it is the Englsh version, made in 1917 for sale in the UK as propaganda. They were sold in London department stores such as Selfridges; I have one of them in the original box. If it is spelt 'MaI', then you probably have an original German piece. There are many vaiations, and value differs greatly depending on type and condition. A photo, diameter and weight would help.

Follow up question concerning Carl Goetz medals, are there any counterfiets of his work? I have never seen a book on them so does anyone know of one? I very much enjoy his work but would need more info before I ever attempted to buy any examples.
