midnightrider New Member United States 32 Posts	Posted 04/07/2011 1:42 pm Pretty close to what I was thinking also. Got another 1857 flying eagle in this same lot, which is actually in nicer shape, but it has a big red streak of residue on the obverse which kills it. Not sure what the stuff is, swear it almost looks like a kid drew on it with a crayon or something. Report this Post to the Staff

midnightrider New Member United States 32 Posts	Posted 04/08/2011 3:48 pm Traded up on the 1868 half today. Traded it and a little junk silver for a much nicer 1862-S. Not nearly as skilled at grading coins as most of the people here but I'm guessing AU-50 to AU-53 going by my photograding book. Report this Post to the Staff
