Rsxtacee Pillar of the Community United States 737 Posts	Posted 04/06/2011 8:24 pm I finally received my shipment from a dealer for 25 40mm capsules for ASE's and 25 38mm capsules for Morgans, Peace, Ikes. Etc. All were shipped with black rings. Now here's the problem. I've gone through all the capsules and they all seem to be the same size. I've measured the actual capsules to be 40mm while the ring's width is 2mm which so I think I've been sent all capsules intended for 38mm coins. I won't be able to check them with my coins until I gets home tomorrow night. I was just wondering if someone with both size capsules can verify that they are actually different sizes and easily distinguished. I just want to know that I'm not crazy lol. The fact that I can't verify until tomorrow evening is killing me. . I've already contacted the ebay dealer so I hope to hear from them soon. Thanks and cheers! Ryan Report this Post to the Staff

BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 04/06/2011 11:20 pm I've had both and remember the ASE capsules were direct fit (no ring inside) and had the same exterior dimensions. Sounds like your measurements are way off though. The direct fit capsules for large dollars are 43mm in diameter (outside). Your measurements of 2mm for the ring would equate to 4mm overall (across the diameter) and 36mm for the coin. There are many different sizes and styles of these capsules out there. I bet you find the Morgans fit with the ring inside and the ASE fit without it. ANA #R3154474 Report this Post to the Staff

I have 3 ASE's in airtites at home in capsules that I can compare them too. I think you're right. They probably sent me 50 air tights w/ rings for Morgans, which would mean the ASE would fit without the ring. Unfortunately that's not what I ordered. Oh well, hopefully they can clear this up. I may be off on the measurements but I'm fairly sure the rings are all the same. Time to go triple check! This is bugging me enough that I'm considering driving home tonight just to make sure lol. darn this hobby! Report this Post to the Staff

Rsxtacee Pillar of the Community United States 737 Posts	Posted 04/21/2011 3:34 pm We're good to go Bruce =). the capsules themselves are the same size, just the actual rings that differ. I wasn't able to notice the difference until I was home and able to put the coins in. they work great. It's a little loose on the Morgan that I have. It doesn't rotate but I can feel it. I'm chalking that up to the fact that the one I had was worn. The ASE's are nice and snug. Haven't tried them on the Grizzlies yet. I'll have to take one out of the tube and try later.
