From the vast knowledge on this site I believe this is a 1974 D MD, but want to be sure. I like it either way

I'm no pro but it looks like MD to me and a nice reference piece too.

Definitely MD. Notice the flat, shelf-like appearance of the doubling. It is a very good example of MD.
