I run a little for both happy and sad. I have bought proof coins from the mint regularly since 1996. Modern commemorative, proof sets and Silver Eagles. Now I am close to being priced out of continuing my sets but the existing have far outreached the purchase price. The same thing happened in 2007 when I had set my goal of the first spouse series only to be out of my price range by 2008. It's good for a speculator but bad for a hobbyist.

I have 3 silver quarters, so I don't care. I'll be elated when copper hits $40/oz.

I could only make one vote so it was laughing
because that is mostly it. Because I started hard core stacking Silver
in March of last year.

As for my numismatic passion ( Eisenhower dollars) "Don't Care"
Because money is only a tool like a hammer or screw driver
it allows me to get something accomplished that I love.

And yes there is some crying because no matter how hard
I have been stacking I always think I should have bought more.

There is a large amount of copper in a clad Ike.
And back a few months ago when JP Morgan Chase
very quietly bought up about 70% of the London Exchanges
physical copper with the intent of opening a copper exchange
along the same lines as the Silver Exchange.
And given their track record for manipulating markets
They Might (Do not know for sure) have the intent
of manipulating the price of copper in the up direction
instead of like they did with Silver where the objective
was to hold it down.
It might not take a clad Ike to be worth a buck or more
That would be great.

Silver at 40/ounce, copper at 4.47/pound, Nickel at 12.48/pound.

Sounds great, right?
except, ummmmm, Oil closed at 113/barrel, Gas is $3.50/gallon on average, and you really need to go grocery shopping with your wife to see what this is doing to our buying power.
It now takes $1.44 to buy what a Euro does. Kiss goods from Europe goodbye for awhile.
We are within 10% of being at par with the Swiss Franc and the Canadian and Australian Dollars.
All three of these currencies were around 2:1 in the USD's favor a few years back.

stewart, so you are saying that I have to finish all my copper sets (LMC, LWC, IHC, Large Cent) soon ? AND we all should hoard all the copper pennies ?

Imagine copper at $10/oz....
