Poll Question
Silver just flew pass $40 headed for $41 today. Are you: 1. Laughing because you have a lot of your silver sets finished and other silver set aside just watching the value climb. 2. Crying because you are in the middle of some silver sets and it's climbing past your comfort zone. Or you sold at $30 and wished you had waited. 3. Don't care, you don't collect silver so it doesn't matter. For me it's mostly laughing, I have my ASE's[some I got for $8 each],Franklins[got set for $80],Mercs,Roosevelts,Kennedys,plus some other coins just sitting there growing in value. A little crying for not starting the Peace dollars and Washington quarters sooner. ***Moved to the Precious Metals Forum***

I've got a lot of modern silver's finished, so I'm happy about that. But I'm not done buying silver, so future purchases may hurt.

I voted don't care I do collect silver but have laid off buying since silver has been climbing. Sold a few times at certain mileposts. I am not crying because I could have held out. Who really knows? I could have been greedy and lost the chance to make a profit too. The next batch of silver I will try to sell is special coins silver UK proofs from The Royal Mint and some Royal Canadian Mint. The intrinsic value may finally make up for the collectors numismatic value and pull me out of a bad investment. Those I have to sell when I can take a gain.

I voted crying. :(
Ive been holding some cash since the first of the year when I sold off a bunch of silver when it was $30 dollars an ounce because of some "advice" to wait unti the summer for the so called "correction" to come.
So far I've been waiting and waiting and the only thing I'm seeing is my cash lose value since I am not going to be able to buy the same amount of silver I could have at the beginning of the year.
But what If I do spend it and the price of silver finally gets "corrected"
Its a gamble I guess...

The only thing I go with silver is roll search for it and sell it. The higher it goes, the better.

I'm crying for the USD that is heading in the toilet. That's a big part of the run-up. I gotta believe gold went too far too fast and silver is catching up to where it should be.

im crying for the most part as I would of had more then a car if I would have waited longer to get one. I sold the majority of my ASE at 27 oz for 30 as I wanted to trade in my junk car I had as it was my birthday, I'm not going to say how much I sold but it was a majority of my bullion. Lets say 100 oz thats 3000 now if going by the 3 over spot still to 4300 in a 3 months ;( being selfish can hurt, I didnt really need it but still stuff happens

I see a lot of people here debating the pros and cons of the rising price of silver - but I'm curious on how much it really affects people. Are the ones who comment "that it matters" investing £1,000's of pounds in their collecting? - it would make a bit of a difference then if their collecting was solely on bullion coins (though to me that sounds a bit dull), or are we talking just a few £'s of a differences in the odd silver coin purchase, that these rises make?

Bacchus2, I think it depends on when you got in and what constitutes[alot of money] to you. As I stated in my poll I got a set of Franklins for $80 and they are now worth over $500. Thats 500% profit. I also got some ASE's for $8 and they are worth $40+. Thats 400% profit. If my other investments were anywhere near there I would be rich. I'm not rich for sure but it sure makes my wife quiet down about my boring hobby, and thats worth more than 500% profit right there.

I vote "Don't care" (an equivalent to a neutral vote to me) since I still have some ASE but didn't bother to build other silver set.

I don't care. I have some silver, but not much. I don't plan on selling anytime soon and am working on an IHC set which eats up more than enough of my coin budget. I guess it would be bad if you are in the middle of a silver set.
