Wasn't that the small note? Didn't they get up to something like one hundrend billion trillion quadrillion and whatevercomesnextilllion? Zimbabwe must have had the highest nubered note in history!

I think they pretty much abandoned their money and allow whatever people want to pay with and accept...the purest of money.

Those Zimdollar notes sure are interesting as collectibles. But those zeros can be deceiving. The dollar introduced in 2006 ("version 2" so to say) was equal to 1,000 old dollars. Two years later, a new dollar ("version 3") came, and ten zeros were cut off. In February 2009 the dollar "version 4" was introduced, cutting off another twelve zeros.

And then, two years ago (in April 2009), the government allowed the use of other currencies, mostly the South African rand and the US dollar (provided you have that kind of money, e.g. get paid in USD or have family in SA). Since that time, the Zimbabwe dollar has basically been dead.

I just read an interesting article about Hyperinflation in Zimbabwe. They claimed a 100 trillion dollars couldn't get you a loaf of bread. The daily inflation rate was a 100%
