Grade opinions? Is anyone familiar with 3-Cent nickel die varieties? Just wondering what's going on with the '2'.

F-15 to VF-20, typical poor strike on this date. The date is just the way it is struck; I have had 3 1882's. Might want to dip this in acetone some time.

In most stuff, definitely, but acetone is a substance that just gets rid of gunk and is harmless to coins themselves if you're just talking a relatively short bath (even up to a few days)

F-15 The 2 is a strike issue I think.

I'm going with a VF-25 for this with a weaker obverse strike. The reverse looks great!

The 2 just seems to fill in during the minting.

Here's mine. You can see the "2" is more filled than the "188_"
