fyi..
I noticed on many used/worn coins; it is hard to see a pointed 7 because the point end actually got banged/hit/smashed, so 7 appears to be a blunt version of the 7.
you almost need AU/MS coin to see pointed 7 very clear.

So is the MLeaf physically on the lower part of the seven of "1947" a well known or a common error?

The leaf must have been hand punched. It seems to float all over. Not just high/low,etc.There is even small, medium and large maple leaves. The ones I have vary in size and position.(Of course it could be normal wear too for the different sizes)
As for rareity in the varieties,I have no idea what is what.Which are rarer etc.
Maybe there is no real rare ones. Most of mine are in circulated or B.U. condition.ONLY ONE is in MS condition.(The pointed high 7-far leaf)

The low M.L. (for example)is just below the right tip of the 7(not directly beside it.) When I get a chance I will post pics to show the diferences.
Right now I`m getting ready for a 5 day deep woods camping and fishing trip(We leave tomorrow)
Hang in there pics will come eventually

Under the FWIW column, there recently has been found, another 'type ML. It is a 'filled die', and is not well defined. One of the forums posted the info. Maybe I can re-locate it, later.
Collectal, I gave given you some erroneous info, re myself. When I was quite active here, I still had my vision, and could focus on the details, using a 10X loope. Not so today. I am "legally blind", and have to use 20X-40X to see. Not easy, but still the main part of my collecting, so if I can, "blow it up big enough, I'll tell you what it is. LOL
